BROTHERS OF THE WEST

Welcome to the world of Monument State, inspired by the 19th-century history, geography and culture of the American West.

This is the world in which Brothers of the West: Dawn, and the wider Brothers of the West Saga, is set. 

​

I didn't want to write an ordinary Western. I wanted to push the boundaries of what I believe is possible with this genre. That is why I have created a fictional world with its own history, politics, cultures, dialects, and religions. 

​

I have taken the Western out of the West. 

​

And yet when you read Brothers of the West: Dawn, you instinctively know that you are in a Western. There are shootouts, gold, horses, whiskey, sweeping landscapes and a diverse cast of characters and settings. The Western is much more than its traditional setting in the United States or its connection to Christianity.

The Western is about the enduring nature of the human spirit. It is about survival. It is about the pursuit of a better world and a better life. 

​

And that is exactly what Monument State and Brothers of the West will give you as readers.

And it all begins with Dawn, coming 26th October 2026.
